3D modelling

3d modeling is the process of creating a virtual three dimensional model. This is analogous to creating a physical model, although it only exists digitally. A 3D model is a mathematical representation of a 3D object that can be rendered into images or animations using specialized software.

A 3D model may be used for multiple renders, so often it is very easy to render two versions of an image, which may have different surfaces, different lighting, or be from a different perspective.

3D models are a collection of points, or vertices, connected by edges into faces. These faces collectively form 3D objects. 3D models also contain specialized vertices that simulate lights and cameras.
