With 2022 quickly drawing to a close, we decided it would be a perfect time to create a fun guide for the year. We wanted to show some of our favorite companies, software, resources, and trends relating to architectural rendering.

Top Architectural Rendering Companies in 2022

  1. RealSpace 3D - Offers a great blend of price and quality, quickly becoming one of the top architectural rendering companies in 2022. (ok, maybe we’re a little biased)
Some of our main services include: Exterior Rendering, Interior Rendering, and Architectural Animation
  2. Supercheap 3D - provides clients with an inexpensive rendering option
  3. Render 3D quickly - Fast turnaround, reasonable price
  4. Easy render - Although more of a platform for freelance artists, this service can be beneficial for those with small-scale projects

We created a guide highlighting some of our favourite free 3D software, and the top free architecture software here are our top 3 for 2022

    1. Blender - In our opinion, the perennial champ
    2. FreeCAD - Open source 3d modelling software
    3. LUX core render - Open source 3d rendering software

    2022 Architectural Rendering Technology Trends

3D designing tools have become revolutionary in the way that engineers and architects work through their building designs to communicate with investors. For example, parametric modelling has provided Building Teams with a way to incorporate weight tolerances and various other types of information into their finalized designs.

In addition, these tools will also assist a designer when it comes to their sculpting, painting and 3D environment drawing in a manner that feels more natural in 2022 than in the past. This technology accommodates those who wish to have a simple-to-use tool that transcends the difficulties that once existed between being appealing and having more functionality.

    Sketchup Conceptual Design

Having been originally developed as a generalized 3D content application, SketchUp was introduced in 2002. It was created to provide professional designers with a way to draw on a computer monitor in the same manner as they could through the use of paper and pen. Its simplistic interface allowed the designer to play around with their designs in a manner that just wasn’t possible with previous designing software. It allows you to draw your design in a style reminiscent of 2D using a patented “push-pull” technology.
Afterward, it will allow you to transfer that design to a 3D format. Since Google bought the company (2006), additional features have been included. One of these features involves an integration of the software with Google Earth. This way, geospatial data can be incorporated with a completed design that resides in a particular environment.
Both construction and architect professionals have stated that they are impressed by the newfound freedom associated with creating designs and mock-ups with the use of a mouse operating as a pen. Also, since many projects involve limited design details, SketchUp will provide a way to illustrate the way that the design will be built.

For example, a large hospital can be presented as a 3D model with only a simple 2D sketch as a basis for the design. At that point, the subsequent 3D design can be constructed without coordination problems.

The Google SketchUp free version can export a 3D design to a .kmz, dae., and .skp format. The complete Pro version will support; .wrl, .xsi, .obj, .fbx, .dxf, .dwg, .dae, and .3ds files, as well.

The new version will integrate its Component Browser with Google’s 3D Warehouse (stored models that SketchUp users have made). It also features; photograph-extracted views, components that are designed to respond correctly to scaling and a Ruby app interface. The integration with Ruby will allow the designer to create their tools and then import those tools with the API.

    3D PRINTING

2022 saw further progression in our ability to print 3D designs into physical objects.

It is no longer necessary to physically shop-build architectural models.

This, in essence, has provided a completely different type of designer workflow. Even so, there are still some clients who demand physical models to show the interested party’s design intent. You’ll usually find this with clients who aren’t all that familiar with computers.

Fortunately, 3d Printing companies provide a way to take 3D files and use them to “print” resin and powder models that are minutely detailed. The best part is that this will only take hours, rather than days!
Here, you can create a perfect 3D model in the manner that you intended, rather than the way the model shop employee views it. This complements 3D tools and BIM is being utilized more and more by smaller companies as a way to set themselves apart from other firms. In addition, the cost of material for printing models has decreased to approximately $5-3 per material cubic inch. CMYK colour can also be used to allow the designer the freedom to show what they would like to illustrate. Also, just about every 3D design program can export a file to the .stl format to print in 3D.

When using advanced 3d tools, it can easily be predicted that 2023 will see an ever-widening revolution in the architectural and design world. This is occurring for two significant reasons. First of all, you have a situation in which software has been extensively improved to provide designers with what they want. Secondly, computing power has increased to the point where the full potential of the 3D software can be used and still be cost-effective.
